By Journal Staff

MARQUETTE — Trevor John Flynn, 41, of Marquette was arrested on two felony counts and arraigned on charges of one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes and one count of using a computer to commit a crime according to a Michigan State Police press release.

He was arrested following an investigation initiated when it was learned that Flynn was chatting with minors online. The case was referred to the MSP Computer Crimes Unit from the East Haven Police Department in Connecticut. A search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.

Flynn was arraigned in the 96th District Court on Monday.

If convicted, Flynn faces up to four years in prison for children-accosting for immoral purposes and seven years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children and family members about safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to assist in keeping people safe online. The MSP ICAC Task Force provides a comprehensive list of resources on its website at michiganicac.com.
