Warm weather breaking records

BMARQUETTE — For the second day in a row, the National Weather Service office in Negaunee reports that the unseasonably hot weather has broken previous records.

On Tuesday afternoon, the NWS office in Negaunee that record-high temperatures were recorded in the area, with Tuesday’s high of 83 exceeding the 2005 record high of 78.

Monday’s high of 87 ties the former record high previously recorded in 1992. The 87 degree temperature marks a significant increase on the NWS average temperature for Oct. 2, which is 59 degrees. The hot weather is seemingly at an end according to the NWS, with predicted high temperatures being in the high 40s and low 50s starting next week.
