3-car crash in Negaunee results in minor injuries

NEGAUNEE — One Negaunee resident was trapped in their car following a three-car collision at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Teal Lake Avenue on Friday.

Police say a red Suzuki station wagon driven by a woman from Negaunee turned left into oncoming traffic.

A tan Chevy sedan driven by a man from Republic struck the car at the intersection.

The passenger in the Suzuki had to be extricated by Marquette County Emergency Rescue and both occupants of that vehicle were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

The driver of the Chevy also received minor injuries, but sought his own medical treatment.

A third unidentified vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

According to police, the driver of the Suzuki was cited for failing to yield.

The Negaunee Police Department was assisted a the scene by the Michigan State Police-Negaunee Post, Negaunee Fire, Bell Emergency Medical Services and Marquette County Tech Rescue.
