HOUGHTON — The Michigan State Police are currently conducting an investigation of an officer-involved shooting that took place in Houghton County Monday night, Michigan State Police Eight District Public Information Officer Lt. Mark Giannunzio confirmed in a phone interview this morning.

The person who was shot was taken to the hospital but their condition is unknown at this time, he said.

Officials with the Michigan State Police’s Seventh District from the northern Lower Peninsula have been investigating the scene since Monday night, according to Giannunzio.
