MARQUETTE — Marquette-based developer Veridea Group has announced construction has begun on the second phase of its multi-family development, The Residences at Harbor Vista.

The 42-unit apartment building received approval from the Marquette City Planning Commission on July 16, and earthwork began that week.

Construction is expected to take 10 months, with occupancy beginning in June 2020.

Veridea completed the first phase of development in the summer of 2018 with a 31-unit building. Veridea Director of Development Michele Thomas, said in a press release the Harbor Vista community was designed to contain a variety of residential options constructed in successive phases across the 12-acre parcel.

The vision for the site is the creation of an outdoor lifestyle-focused upscale residential community. The site plan maximizes the property’s outdoor amenities, including views of the Lower Harbor, direct access to the NTN South Trails and the city bike path, and its location adjacent to the Carp River.

“The reaction to the first building was very positive and allowed us to move immediately to the second phase,” Thomas said.

In addition to the 42 apartments, the second building will contain amenities for tenants of both phases.

“We’ll be including a community room, expanded fitness center, and large outdoor patio in the second building,” Thomas said. “These will be available for use by all Harbor Vista tenants, and will serve as the community center for the entire Harbor Vista development.”
