MARQUETTE — Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her first community office after-hours from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at Provisions, located at 401 S. Lakeshore Boulevard. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with city staff about interests and concerns.
MARQUETTE — A June-July exhibits artist reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at the Peter White Public Library. Amber Dohrenwend’s “We Make Our City, Our City Makes Us” Art Week installation will be in the the Marquette Arts and Culture Center’s Deo Gallery. Jody Trost’s art exhibit, “Pandemic: Hobby Gone Wild,” will feature felted creations in the Huron Mountain Club Gallery. Joe’s Siegel’s art exhibit titled “POP!” will be a showcase for comics and graphic novels in the Reception Gallery in the lower level.
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Drumming Circle will be having a community drum session from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey. Weather permitting, drummers will be moving chairs outside to drum. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience or ability. Some rhythms instruments and drums are available. MARQUETTE— Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday. The distribution of food will begin at 10 a.m. and continue while supplies last or until noon. Food will be available for approximately 500 families. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants.
