You met Savannah Sevegney a couple weeks ago with her newly opened business Modern Drift Boutique, located near Irontown Pasties. Now it’s time to meet her mother who is the owner of Jasper Hill Photography, Jennifer Sevegney. As the business name clearly suggests, Jen is a professional photographer.

Jen found a love as well as a knack for photography when attending her children’s various sporting events. She volunteered to take photos at these games, matches and tournaments. Her work eventually caught the eyes of others and her talent was recognized, leading to new ventures. These included providing photos for the Westwood High School yearbook. She is also a 2021 graduate of the New York Institute of Photography.

Most recently, Jen is taking a shot at the future. She especially wants to provide a more manageable and predictable environment for her art. With her new studio, she will be able to control lighting. It’s also less likely that her projects will be delayed by bad weather. Additionally, she hopes to rent out her studio to other photographers and artists who need a controlled studio setting.

Some may ask, what about your competition? Is there really an advantage to allowing competitors to use your space?

Jen notes that there’s enough for everyone! She is willing to share the wealth. That’s not something you see every day. I suspect if someone really wants Jen to take their photo, they might just have to wait a little while.

She’s hoping the new indoor studio will allow her to provide services such as professional head-shots, seniors photos, family photos, touch ups, digital services, as well as access to print services.

Jen said she chose Negaunee because she likes what the city is doing. She thinks Negaunee is trying to be all they can be! And she likes the idea of the social district, even though it’s not near her business because she feels it will help the downtown. She said she’s also excited about all the events Negaunee has to offer.

As with her daughter Savannah before her, Negaunee welcomes Jen and her business to our community. It’s clear to anyone she meets that Jen has a very positive attitude and is full of goodwill. She’s a good fit for Negaunee. Please take the time to stop in to see both Jen and Savannah, they have much to offer. We wish them both great success in their new ventures.
