Contemplative sessions this month
MARQUETTE — Meditate Marquette Center for Meditation and Contemplative Practices is offering several contemplative practice sessions throughout December.
A one-day virtual retreat for deepening personal practices is being offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Retreats are a time-honored tradition in meditation, spiritual, and religious practices as a method for deepening personal practices, deepening our connection to our best intentions, and deepening our spiritual connections.
The retreat will be interspersed with sitting silently in community, walking and movement meditation, mindful eating, and inspirational talks. On Dec. 19 Mindfulness Teacher Debra Smith will discuss mindful pocket practices to use during busy, challenging times to manage stress and stay connected to our intention of compassion and kindness. The session will run from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Meditate Marquette also offers virtual community meditation sessions throughout the week. Ten-minute sits are offered on Sunday evenings and Monday noon and a 15-minute is offered Thursday mornings.
Tuesday evenings offer a one hour drop in meditation with a combination of sitting meditation, walking, loving kindness and sharing. For more information, email email@example.com.
