Peter White Public Library May offerings

While closed due to COVID19, the Peter White Public Library will strive to bring programming to youth and families via the technology available.

Those who have Facebook are encouraged to follow @PeterWhitePublicLibraryYouthServices to stay up-to-date on upcoming programs. For non-Facebook users, PWPL staff is uploading what videos it can to the library’s YouTube channel. Go to the Youth Services page on the website pwpl.info as several videos will be unlisted on YouTube and only accessible through the website. Call 906-226-4323 with questions.

PWPL staff will be answering phones and returning messages from noon-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. People also may send messages on FB.

Recorded Read-Aloud: “Ranger in Time: Journey through Ash and Smoke”

Monday-Wednesday, 1-1:30 p.m. Hear Ranger’s adventures read-aloud, this time back to Iceland during the Viking Age. Recorded Read-Aloud of “Anne of Green Gables”

Monday-Thursday, 7-7:30 p.m. Need a bedtime story? Miss Sarah is reading aloud “Anne of Green Gables,” written by L.M. Montgomery found on Project Gutenberg. Facebook Live Storytime

Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 5-28: 10-10:30 a.m. Even though the physical building is closed, PWPL staff wants to make sure kids have access to storytime. So join in on Facebook for these live storytimes. There will be stories, songs and fingerplays. To join the live storytime, like PWPL on Facebook @PeterWhitePublicLibraryYouthServices. Thursday, May 7 and Monday-Thursday, May 11, 12, 13, 14. 1-1:30 p.m. The library is starting a new read-aloud, the ever popular “Owl Diaries.” A different book will be read each day, and those who own a copy are encouraged to grab it and read along with Miss Sarah.
