‘Take what you need, leave what you can’ table set up to help neighbors

A “Take what you need, leave what you can” table is seen at the end of Tonya Marra Allen’s driveway on Glenwood Lane in west Ishpeming. Allen wanted to be able to help community members while maintaining social distancing guidelines. The table will be out for individuals to take what they need or drop off items on days when the weather is nice, she said. “So many people are facing financial hardship right now and this is one small way I can help and give back to the community,” Allen said. “Every small act of kindness adds up. We’re all in this together.” A public Facebook group titled “Take What You Need. Leave What You Can” has been started for those interested to share their tables and other acts of community kindness. Allen will deliver leftover non perishables to the Christ the King church for use toward their Patriot Pack Program. Breakfast/lunch combinations can be picked up from the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. (Photo courtesy of Tonya Marra Allen)
