‘Camping’ while at home
MARQUETTE — When people think of scouting, they may think of a campout. As the states of Michigan and Wisconsin shelter in place, the Bay-Lakes Council invites the general public to join Scouts and families from across the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin for a camp-in, instead.
Taking part is a simple three-step process, according to a release from the Scouts:
1. Log onto www.baylakesbsa.org/scouting-at-home/ to check out the details.
2. On Wednesday, build your very best Blanket Tent at home and tune into https://www.facebook.com/events/ 2824905100879675/ for a 30-minute Campfire Program scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
3. Enjoy camping out in your living room with your immediate family on the evening of April 1 — it’s April Fools Day anyway.
Those utilizing the website resources need not be registered in the Bay-Lakes Council, or Boy Scouts of America.
