MARQUETTE — Tasty Reads, a book group for readers who like to cook, will focus on “Savage Feast: Three Generations, Two Continents, and a Dinner Table” by Boris Fishman at their Tuesday meeting at noon in the Peter White Public Library’s Shiras Room on the upper level.

In this memoir with recipes, Fishman describes how he and his family immigrated to the United States via Vienna and Rome. The process was filled with paperwork and judgment on their suitability to enter the US, culminating in their arrival in New York in 1988.

Central to this whole process were issues of hunger and cultural loss, exasperated by the family’s pessimistic outlook.
