UPCAP seeking part-time workers

MARQUETTE — UPCAP is currently seeking part-time (20 hours per week) individuals in Marquette who are interested in performing various tasks to support The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum through UPCAP’s Senior Community Service Employment Program.

This is a grant funded training program and duties/responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to: greeting customers with a friendly manner, assisting birthday parties, tidying/cleaning the exhibits, helping customers with special needs, work in a positive and mentoring manner with all the youth, wipe down surfaces and wash toys to prevent the spread of germs, divert children from negative behaviors in a kind and respectful manner, assure that all supplies are available to patrons at each of the exhibits, assure positive animal experiences, handle the animals for the customers, clean animal cages, assure the bathrooms are clean and clutter free, etc.

This is a federally funded grant program. Applicants must be 55 years of age or older and meet income and employment requirements. They must also be able to pass a criminal background check.
