Tax prep help on NMU campus

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University’s Beta Alpha Psi student organization is once again running the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

VITA is a program in which students of accounting and finance majors volunteer to complete tax returns for students and the general public. This is a free service that helps the community and helps students put their classwork to use and gain experience. Professors are there to assist and make sure the return is done correctly.

The program is running Tuesdays and Thursdays starting until April 15 from 5-7 p.m. in Jamrich Hall room 2315.

Bring tax documents and get tax returns completed for free. These students prepare basic tax returns. Income limits are capped at $58,500 for single filers and $80,000 for married filing jointly filers.
