Pastor installation at NMU

MARQUETTE — Pastor Breanne Kinnunen will be installed as the pastor of Lutheran Campus Ministries at Northern Michigan University.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic St., Marquette.

The community is welcome to attend the installation service and celebrate the beginning of Pastor Bre’s ministry at NMU. A reception will be held following the service.

Kinnunen started her career as a children and adolescent psychiatric R.N. and soon after felt a calling into the ministry. Since then she has worked in inner city ministry in Connecticut as a youth director and as a parish pastor in the Upper Peninsula since 2012.

According to a press release, pastoring is one of her greatest blessings in life, alongside of her husband Tom and daughter Maggie. She looks forward to what is to come in campus ministry at NMU, the press release states.

Lutheran Campus Ministry is a ministry for students, faculty, staff and others on campus, and is not just a ministry for Lutherans. It provides an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America presence at more than 180 state and private colleges and universities with cooperating congregations in campus ministry at an additional 400 campuses nationwide.
