Tai Chi workshop set for Saturday
MARQUETTE — An introductory workshop to the mind-body practice of Tai Chi Chuan will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Hope Connection Center, 927 W. Fair Ave.
Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that focuses on balance,well-being, and relaxation. It was first developed by Buddhist monks in the 8th century and is increasingly used in health settings around the world. Tai Chi is also the mother of all the martial arts.
Saturday’s workshop will focus on the Tai Chi ball, a basic form using a small sphere as a focus point.
This workshop is sponsored by The Cedar Tree Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides services and initiates projects in the areas of mental health, religion, and the environment. Cost is $27 and includes a light brunch.
