MARQUETTE — The Food for Fines program at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette has begun.

Library staff are collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items as part of the TV6 Canathon. PWPL will forgive $1 in library fines or give a free film rental for each donated food item.

The Food for Fines program — in its eighth year at the library — runs until Dec. 4. Food items can be donated at the check-out desk on the main floor during library hours. The library has been a TV6 Canathon drop-off location since the start of the program in 1982.
