Donations for Shelldon’s new home

MARQUETTE — Thanks to the generous supporters and contributors of the “Shelldon’s New Home” GoFundMe page, Shelldon, the snapping turtle is now living in his new home at MooseWood Nature Center.

Some of the features in the new home include over 400 gallons of water, a basking area, live aquatic and land plants, and a waterfall.

MooseWood Nature Center is not-for-profit organization located on Presque Isle Park in the former Shiras Pool building. Open hours for visiting are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday or by appointment. More information can be found at www.moosewood.org or on Facebook.
