Symphony concert at NMU

MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University music department presents the first symphony orchestra concert of the year at 7:30 tonight in Reynolds Recital Hall.

The concert will feature Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis performing his own composition titled Ulysses Violin Concerto. The piece is described as “gypsy jazz” mixed with the classical music style.

The NMU string orchestra will also perform Holmberg Suite by Edvard Grieg and Irish Legend by Soon Hee Newbold. The concert is free and open to the public.
