NMU hosts Alzheimer’s talk

MARQUETTE — Recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease will be the topic of the next Your Health presentation at Northern Michigan University.

Scott Counts, associate professor of translational neuroscience at Michigan State University, will give the talk at 7 p.m. Thursday in Reynolds Recital Hall. This event is free and open to the public. Counts’ presentation will also address dementia and its socioeconomic impact. He is the author of more than 75 papers and book chapters on the molecular pathogenesis of dementia.

Counts holds a doctorate in neuroscience from Emory University. He was recruited to MSU as an associate professor of translational neuroscience at the Grand Rapids campus.
