Iron Ore and the Civil War — The Michigan Iron Industry Museum hosts Iron Ore and the Civil War from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event features a Civil War artillery encampment featuring military camp life; costumed interpreters; cannon demonstrations; cooking demonstrations; period music; children’s games and activities. Plant Exchange — St. Louis the King Women’s Club will have its annual Fall Plant Exchange starting at 9:30 a.m. The exchange itself will occur at 10 a.m. and will take place in the Knight of Columbus parking lot. Gardening tools, outdoor and indoor plants, shrubs, seeds and supplies can be shared at this venue. New gardeners are welcomed.

Friends of the Poor — The Friends of the Poor Run/Walk for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will be at 400 N. Third St., Ishpeming, along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. Timed 5K run and 1-2 mile walk to raise funds for those needing assistance in meeting basic needs of food, rent, utilities, and transportation in the Ishpeming, Negaunee, and Republic areas.
