Gospel concert held in Marquette
HARVEY — Pastor Carl Miller and the congregation of Harvey Baptist Church invite the public to come hear The Steel Magnolias present a special gospel music concert at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The public is invited; there is no charge.
The Steel Magnolias, a group of ladies from San Marcos, Texas, are on an 11-day music tour to the “Heartland of America,” from Sept. 13-23, traveling through 13 states presenting concerts.
This year’s theme is “Joy in the Journey,” from the scripture John 15:11.
The Steel Magnolias have sung throughout America and Canada over the past 13 years. They’ve presented as many as 150 concerts annually.
The church is located at 224 Silver Creek Road in Marquette.

Building Blocks to Success event
L’ANSE — The Baraga Chamber of Commerce will present the seminar, “Building Blocks to Success: Marketing, Media & Method” from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the Baraga Lakeside Inn. Registration is $20 for a Baraga Chamber member, $30 for a non-member, and lunch is included.

Pence Consulting to offer workshop
MARQUETTE — Pence Consulting presents “Capital, Endowment and Special Project Campaign Workshop.”
This three-hour workshop is designed to teach professionals and volunteers engaged in planning, implementing and soliciting money for large capital type campaigns the process people need to know to raise money.

IHS Class of 1958 meets Thursday
ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming High School Class of 1958 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Jasper Ridge Brewery in Ishpeming.
