MSO to begin season Sept. 14

MARQUETTE — Experience the magic of a live orchestra as the Marquette Symphony Orchestra begins its 2019-2020 season on Sept. 14 at Kaufman Auditorium.

Principal conductor Octavio M’s-Arocas returns for a second year to lead the orchestra. The MSO will begin the year with the Brahms’ “Double Concerto,” performed by violinist Scott Flavin and cellist Ross Harbaugh of the Bergonzi Trio. Many will recognize those names as frequent performers in the Pine Mountain Music Festival.

This concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will also include Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” and David Little’s “Haunted Topography.”

Tickets are on sale now online at tickets.nmu.edu and at NMU Ticket Outlets. Season ticket packages are also on sale.

Single concert adult tickets start at $17; tickets for children 13-18 are $12; and children 12 and under are $9. Purchasers can get two free tickets for children 6-14 with the purchase of one adult ticket but must call or visit NMU’s Ticket Office for details.

The MSO’s remaining concerts this season are Oct. 26, Dec. 14, Feb. 22 and April 18.

Starting at $3.23/week.
