Flat Broke Band to perform

MARQUETTE — The Peter White Public Library and the Marquette Area Blues Society invite music lovers to a concert with the Flat Broke Blues Band at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 on the library’s front street steps, part of the monthly Bluesday Tuesday series.

The Flat Broke Blues Band takes the influences of blues, rock, soul and R&B and creates a sound that respects the tradition of the blues genre but also pushes its contemporary bounds. The band’s stage show is filled with an entertaining and danceable mix of blues and R&B classics along with a variety of original songs that showcase the talents of all of the band members: Jim Cohen, Lorrie Hayes, Mike Letts and Walt Lindala.

Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this annual outside blues concert. If raining, the concert will be held in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level. There is no admission fee to attend this event which is co-sponsored by the Marquette Area Blues Society and the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library.
