CHAMPION — Jerzi’s 41 Bar and Grill announces its upcoming West-End Backpack Fundraiser to benefit the Power Packs and Patriot Packs programs.

On Aug. 20, 20% of the sales all day will go to the programs which supply local kids with food on weekends. One in five kids in the U.P. go home from school on the weekend to no food. The Power Packs and Patriot Packs support Ishpeming, NICE, and Republic-Michigamme School districts, grades K-12. They are volunteer-run, donation-based, and anonymous.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, basket raffle, and a silent auction for Packer pre-season tickets. A school bus will be parked at Jerzi’s for the week of the event as a way to collect school supply donations. The community can also help by donating cash or credit during the entire month of August. Jerzi’s has already collected over $350 for the backpack program.
