Kilpela discusses headache treatment
MARQUETTE — Peter White Public Library invites the public to a talk on the treatment of headaches by PA Bonnie Kilpela at 7 p.m. July 2 in the Shiras Room.
According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that 50% of adults have experienced at least one headache in the past year, rendering headaches among the most common of nervous system disorders. Headache disorders are characterized by recurrent headaches, leading to pain, disability, financial cost, and impaired quality of life. Treatment, which ranges from cost effective medications, simple lifestyle modifications and patient education, depends upon the accurate diagnosis of trained health professions.
PA Bonnie Kilpela has a BS in Biochemistry from Northern Michigan University, and a BS in Medicine from Western Michigan University. After graduating in 1993, she has worked in cardiology, neurology, family practice, interventional radiology, and two years in plastic surgery. Currently she is affiliated with Munising Memorial and Upper Great Lakes Health Care.
Anyone who struggles with headaches, or knows someone who does will appreciate this informational program. Bring any questions about this common affliction. There is no admission fee to attend. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
