Plant Exchange — St. Louis the King Women’s Club will have host its annual Spring Plant Exchange at the Knights of Columbus parking lot in Harvey. Those participating are asked to bring plants, gardening supplies, seeds, bulbs, etc., for display at 9:30 a.m. The exchange will begin at 10 a.m. All interested in gardening are welcome to attend and participate.

Repair Cafe — the Transition Marquette County Repair Cafe will be open again in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center, on the lower level of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. From noon to 4 p.m., the public is invited to bring in small household items in need of repair. Volunteer repair talent will be on hand to work on computers and electronics, sewing machines, small appliances, clothing, lamps, and other household items. The focus is on helping people learn to repair their own items, thus saving money and keeping material out of landfills. Ranger Andrea Chynoweth will lead a Wildflower and Woodlands Walk for all ages at 1 p.m. Participants will identify wildflowers, learn about northern hardwood forest ecology, and discuss the impact of invasive species during this leisurely one-hour stroll. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Be prepared for bugs. Bring water and a camera. Meet at the Miners Castle visitor deck, located six miles north of H-58 at the end of Miners Castle Road. Memorial Day Marquette — Memorial Day events in Marquette will include a 9:30 a.m. service at Holy Cross Cemetery and a 10:15 a.m. service at Park Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the American Legion Post 44 following the services.

Memorial Day: Gwinn — A short ceremony will take place at 9:45 a.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial in Peter Nordeen Park. The parade will start at 10 a.m. from the park and proceed to the Gwinn Cemetery where a ceremony will take place at approximately 10:45 a.m.

An additional memorial service will be held at Bakkala Cemetery immediately following the first service. Participants at the parade are invited to lunch at the Gwinn VFW Post after the parade. Call Don St. Aubin at 346-9329 with any questions.

Memorial Day: Ishpeming — Memorial Day services honoring comrades killed in action will be held starting at 10 a.m. at the Ishpeming Cemetery. Various veterans groups and auxiliaries will be participating. In case of rain, a service will take place at the Ishpeming VFW Post 4573, 310 Bank St.
