Ojibwa history — A program entitled “History of the Ojibwa Peoples” will be presented at 1 p.m. in the Leverton Community Room on the lower level of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library. Cousins Judy Conrad, Danny Garceau, and Jeff Carlson will be discussing their Ojibwa heritage with the aid of a number of artifacts from their collections. The public is invited to this free event; seating is limited, so it will be “first come, first served.” Light refreshments will be served by the Friends of the Library.

Goof-Fest — The inaugural Goof-Fest scholarship benefit celebration will raise funds to establish The Alan “Goofus” Ammesmaki Scholarship for Negaunee High School. Events start at 2 p.m. in downtown Negaunee.

Melody on Ice — “Around the World!” 2 p.m. Berry Events Center, Marquette. Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount at NMU EZ ticket outlets or at the door on the day of the event. This show is sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Club.

“Divine Mercy” concert — is at 1:25 p.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, 311 W. Baraga Ave. Marquette. Following the celebration there will be refreshments and fellowship. Bingo — American Legion Auxiliary Bingo at Post 349 in Little Lake is ongoing on Sundays. Early birds are at 1:30 p.m. and the regular session is at 2 p.m. The public is invited.

Workers Memorial — a ceremony to commemorate Workers’ Memorial Day will be at 2 p.m. at the Negaunee Elks, 107 N. Pioneer Ave. It is put together by the UP Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO and Marquette-Alger Labor Council.

Senior Dance — Fourth Sunday senior dance at Dance Zone will feature an afternoon of music and dance featuring Blue Champagne.

Open Drop-In Meditation Sit — 5:30-6:30 p.m. An opportunity for individuals with meditation practices to get together in a group setting for 30-minute silent meditation, brief sharing and short loving kindness meditation.
