Storm Spotters presentation held

MARQUETTE — Do you know how to spot a storm coming?

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Matt Zika, Warning Coordinator Meteorologist for the National Weather Service, will give a presentation entitled Storm Spotters in the Peter White Public Library’s Shiras Room on the upper level of the library. Although the National Weather Service uses technology to help predict the weather, it relies on trained weather spotters to provide information that technology does not provide. In this training session, Matt Zika will cover the procedures as well as safety tips for spotting hazardous weather conditions like tornadoes, flash flooding, wind and hail.

There is no admission fee to attend. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
