‘Melody on Ice 2019’ presented

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Figure Skating Club presents “Melody on Ice 2019: Around the World!”

This is a family event that features local skaters, the Northern Michigan University figure skating team, and this year, a guest skater, Danil Siianytsia.

The show will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Berry Events Center.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount at NMU EZ ticket outlets or at the door on the day of the event. This show is sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Club.

Children’s clothing, toy resale held

MARQUETTE — Redeemer Lutheran Preschool, located at 1700 W. Fair Ave., Marquette, is hosting its annual Children’s Clothing and Toy Resale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The sale features clothing sizes 0 to 14/16 and various children’s toys, books and equipment. The sale is open to the public and all proceeds are to benefit the preschool. For more information contact Carmen K. Albert at 228-9883.

Community dinner in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — The monthly community dinner at Hope Free Lutheran Church will be at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy some fellowship and a meal of baked ham and cheesy potatoes. The church is located in west Ishpeming on South North Lake Drive. Groceries will also be available for those in need.

Senior dance held at Dance Zone

MARQUETTE — Fourth Sunday senior dance at Dance Zone will feature an afternoon of music and dance featuring Blue Champagne.

Dance Zone is at 1113 Lincoln Ave., Marquette. The dance will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday and is open to the public. The cost is $8 per person; $2 discount to the first six people to arrive. Bring clean shoes to protect the dance floor and the dancers.
