Elks fish fry on tap Friday

MARQUETTE — Marquette Elks Lodge 405 Fish Fry is from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday.

The public is welcome. Chef Jeff will make to order whitefish, baked or fried with a choice of lemon pepper, cajun, ragin cajun spices or plain. Shrimp and beer battered cod round out the seafood choices. Burgers and chicken strips are available too. All dinners include choice of baked potato, fries or onion rings, salad bar and a made from scratch dessert. Live music by Bobby Buchkoe is part of the evening as well.

The Marquette Elks Lodge is located at 127 N. Front St. Reservations are accepted. Call 906-226-7611. Dinners also are available for carry out.

Rock center to host dance

ROCK — A dance will take place from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Rock Community-Senior Center, 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, Rock.

Music will be provided by Wil Kilpela & Kenny. The cost is $5 per person. A free will donation lunch is available. All proceeds benefit the Rock Senior Corporation.

Artist collective exhibit planned

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Artist Collective is having an art exhibit celebrating the U.P. 200 at The Gallery, 130 W. Washington St. titled “Man’s Best Friend.”

The show will run Feb. 14 through March 28. The Gallery will be open during the U..P 200 and the reception for the show will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 1.

All artists are welcome to submit to this juried show. It is $10 per entry up to three entries per artist, part of the entry fee will go to the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.

Artists may drop off their entry fee at The Gallery. Dyana Nefe and email their submissions to the mqtartistcollective@gmail.com by Feb. 4 at midnight including name/title/medium/size/price and images of their work. Work must be gallery ready. All media will be considered.

Best in show will be awarded at the reception.

The Marquette Artist Collective is a diversely talented group of artists and creatives in Marquette. Regular gatherings are open to everyone and work to support creativity, the arts, and events in the amazing local arts community.
