Dobson at TV6 Christmas Craft Show

MARQUETTE — Author Robert D. Dobson’s newest books: “A History You AUTO Know” and “The Railroad That Never Ran, with GPS Waypoints” will be sold and personally autographed at this year’s TV6 Christmas Craft Show at the Superior Dome in Marquette.

Mr. and Mrs. Dobson will be at their corner booth, 238, from 5-9 p.m. Friday; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Dobson will also have his other 10 non-fiction local history books available at booth 238 for those wishing to purchase them for Christmas gifts or for personal reading. All contain a fine personal history of the Marquette County area as found in the weekly Ishpeming Iron Ore, and the Negaunee Iron Herald newspapers beginning in 1873.

This year Dobson will again have his computer available to look up any historical questions people may have regarding family, businesses, mines, etc. Over 1,700 pages of typed notes can instantly be searched. There is no charge for this service.

Those wishing to purchase a book at local establishments may find them at the Marquette Regional History Center and Snowbound Books, the Ishpeming and Negaunee Snyder Drug Stores, and the Negaunee, Michigan Iron Industry Museum. In Ishpeming, books can also be found at Jim’s Jubilee IGA Store, Yooper’s Tourist Trap, The Globe Printing, the Ski and Snowboard Museum and the Cliff’s Shaft Museum.
