Driving class at Negaunee center

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Senior Citizens center will host an AARP Safe Driving class in early November, and the deadline to sign up is Monday, Nov. 5.

The class is a research-based course designed to provide senior drivers (50 and older) with a refresher program for driving. It includes methods to compensate for the effects of aging, changes in the driving task over the years and options for the time to consider limiting your driving.

The class consists of two four-hour sessions, which will be held on November 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. until noon, and 1 to 3 p.m., with an hour break for lunch. The fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

The certified instructor is Don Balmer, a retired public school teacher who taught driver education for more than 30 years.

To sign up, call the Negaunee Senior Center at 475-6266.
