‘Malala’ documentary to be shown
MARQUETTE — DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2015 documentary “He Named Me Malala,” directed by Davis Guggenheim, at 7 p.m. Monday in the Peter White Public Library’s Business Reference Room on the top level of the Library.
When Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai was just 15-years-old, she was shot by the Taliban for being an educational advocate for girls. She survived the attack and in 2014 became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
This biographical documentary runs 88 minutes and is rated PG-13. It won a Primetime Emmy for outstanding individual achievement in animation and best documentary from the Golden Trailer Awards and the Phoenix Film Critics Society.
