Free flights to be offered

MARQUETTE — Young people ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies in free airplane rides.

The experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 850 will host a young Eagles Flight Rally at Sawyer International Airport on Saturday, July 7. Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the EAA meeting room next to the General Aviation Terminal, located about 1 mile south of the Passenger Terminal.

Parents or legal guardians must complete a permission form before the flight; note that other relatives are not legal guardians. Reservations may also be made in advance at “https://www.flightsquid. com/event/3767”. Flights will last about 20 minutes. Please be aware that flights may be canceled due to poor weather conditions.

Following the flight, each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle. Their name will be entered into the World’s Largest Logbook, on display at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
