Salmon in the Classroom — Volunteers from The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited will help students release the fish from their Salmon in the Classroom program. This date, 8:45 a.m. with Gwinn Middle School at Tourist Park Dam, followed by a visit to MooseWood Nature Center in Marquette.

Rumamge sale — at St. Louis the King Church in Harvey from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bingo — Bell Auxiliary is sponsoring a senior luncheon and bingo every third Friday of the month. The luncheon/bingo will be at the Ishpeming Senior Center from noon to 2 p.m. There is no charge. Alanon — meets 1:30 p.m., Grace Episcopal Church, corner of First and Canda streets, Ishpeming.

Fish fry — is 5-7:30 p.m., Negaunee Eagles Club.

Fish fry — American Legion Post 44, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette, will host its final fish fry of the season from 5-7 p.m. On the menu, whitefish, shrimp or chicken strips plus french fries or baked potato. Salad, cole slaw and roll included with all meals. This meal is open to the public. Fish fries will resume in September.

Carnival — the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Chamber Children’s Carnival presented by title sponsor J-Goods Plumbing and Heating, inside and outside River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center in Ishpeming from 5:30-7:30 p.m . Admission to this event is free and the event is open to the public.

Rural Music Fundraiser — Students in the pre-kindergarten through eight-grade music programs at the AuTrain-Onota Public School in Deerton, the Wells Township School in Arnold, and the Powell Township School in Big Bay will be presenting a special evening of music at 6 p.m. at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum in Marquette. The event is intended to raise funds to help support these very small rural music programs.

Teen Night — is 6-10 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Gwinn. Free movies, games and popcorn. Call 346-6115.

Tae Kwon Do School — Martial arts class from 6-6:45 p.m. for kids; 7-8:15 p.m. for adults, 1310 S. Front St., Marquette. Visitors welcome. Call 485-1366.

SAYT — Superior Arts Youth Theater will present its first ever Play Series at Northern Michigan University’s Panowski Black Box Theatre, 7 p.m. Each performance will feature two one-act plays: “Charlotte’s Web” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Limited tickets remain at eventbrite.com, $12 for adults and $7 for students. Seating is general admission.

Dance — The Marquette Folk Dancers have weekly recreational dancing at 7 p.m. at the DanceZone, corner of College and Lincoln. Beginners and visitors always welcome. No experience necessary. Phone 226-9617 for information. Per person fee: $120 annual membership or $3 per session.
