‘Scion’ screening to be held June 1

MARQUETTE — Jennifer Prus, a Marquette local, has recently written and produced a Christian movie called “Scion,” which premiered this past April in Denver.

An advanced screening of “Scion” will take place in Marquette on June 1 at Silver Creek Church. The red carpet semi-formal event is open to the public and reserved tickets cost $10 (no tickets will be available at the door). Doors open at 6 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres. Seating will begin at 6:45 p.m. with a brief question of the movie’s creation and development with the writer and producer. The movie is appropriate for ages 10 and up.

Brief description of the movie: Popularity, escape from her parent’s rules and getting the boy of her dreams – all things teenager Kendra Williams was willing to do anything for. When the beguiling Drake-the devil in secret – offers to fulfill her seeking a whole new identity, she takes it. But the devil intends far more than Kendra bargained for, and Kendra soon learns that getting everything she wanted meant losing it all.
