‘Do It For Daniel’ to be screened

MARQUETTE — At 7 p.m. Monday, the public is invited to a screening of “Do It For Daniel” in the Peter White Public Library’s Business Reference Room as part of the Building Love: Imagine series of events.

Ishpeming High School Football Coach Jeff Olson will be presenting this documentary to educate people about the impact of depression on young people and their families and to help stop the stigma associated with mental illness.

On July 19, 2012, Olson’s son Daniel committed suicide, losing his battle with depression and anxiety. By showing this film, it is hoped that people will recognize that mental illness is quite a common disease and needs to be treated as such so that other young people can feel free to get the help they need.

There is no admission charge to attend thanks to sponsorship by the Peter White Public Library and Forward Action Michigan-UP. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
