Goldilocks’ planned at PWPL

MARQUETTE — On Saturday, the Peter White Public Library will present “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” as part of its “Once Upon a Time” puppet show series.

There will be two performances: one at 1 p.m. and another at 2 p.m. in the Huron Mountain Gallery on the main level of the library.

The original version of this classic fairy tale featured three bachelor bears and an old, ill-behaved woman who after sitting in their chairs, eating their porridge, and sleeping in their beds was never seen again. In later years, the old woman was transformed into a pretty little girl, and eventually the bachelor bears became a family of bears.

Veteran performers of the Vertigo Theatre Company bring their acting talents to the library puppet stage to present this well-loved story with some unique humorous twists. The shows are appropriate for all ages, especially families with young children.

There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
