Madgoodies, located on West Ohio Street behind Zero Degrees Art Gallery in Marquette, opened its doors in September. Shop owner Madeline Goodman graduated from Northern Michigan University in May with a metals degree. Her studio features her own art work as well as 37 other artist’s pieces. She hopes the studio can be used to represent and support local artists as well as NMU alumni by giving them a space for their work. “I’m trying to make the shop a safe space and creative outlet for community members to come in,” Goodman said. Art from the studio has been on display in local businesses such as Contrast Coffee, Superior Culture and in shows at Ore Dock Brewing Co.
