BENNETTS

MARQUETTE — Todd Maki, president and CEO of First Bank, Upper Michigan has announced Ron Bennetts has been promoted to the position of chief credit officer.

Bennetts works out of the Marquette office and began employment there with Northern Michigan Bank, now First Bank, Upper Michigan in May of 1995, as a branch manager. With years of retail experience, Bennetts was promoted to AVP Consumer Lender and also was in charge of collections. In 2003, Bennetts began his career in the commercial lending area promoting to a VP and most recently was promoted to a senior vice president in 2017.

Bennetts has his finance degree from Northern Michigan University. He is a primary caregiver for his elderly parents. He golfs in the Northern Michigan University league, jet-skis in the summer, is an avid snowmobiler in the winter and enjoys working on vehicles with his son. He is a member of the Michigan Snowmobile Association and belongs to the Marquette Economic Club.
