MARQUETTE — Upper Peninsula State Bank is pleased to announce their plans to expand their presence in the greater Houghton area.

The Bank recently purchased property at 908 and 912 College Ave. in Houghton and has plans to build a full-service banking office to further serve the Copper Country.

Upper Peninsula State Bank currently has a full- service banking office in Houghton located at 960 Razorback Drive, Suite #1, opened in July 2022.

The Bank has offices in Escanaba, Gladstone, Iron Mountain, Marquette, and Houghton.

They have many customers in the Copper Country — both in deposits as well as projects they have financed, and their officers have strong business and personal ties in the Copper Country.

Since opening the new banking office, the Bank has continued to build its presence within the community not only through strong banking relationships and financing community projects, but also continual support of local organizations and nonprofits.

Upper Peninsula State Bank President and CEO, David C. Williams stated, “Our decision to build a new office underscores our commitment to the Copper Country and solidifies our long-term strategic goal of focusing on the economic well-being of the Upper Peninsula. We have been extremely proud to expand to the Copper Country and bring this progressive area our full complement of banking services. These include commercial, mortgage, and consumer loans, a full array of deposit products, e-banking services, brokerage services, and video teller technology 7 days a week — all with a client and results-driven focus.”

Chairman of the Board, Robert N. Bink commented, “For 120 years, we have served and focused solely on the financial needs of the citizens and businesses of the Upper Peninsula. The purchase of this property shows our Bank’s dedication to not just the Keweenaw, but the Upper Peninsula as a whole. This is a great and exciting step as we continue building and sharing our brand of banking with residents of the greater Houghton area.”

Bink went on to state that “Upper Peninsula State Bank is consistently recognized as one of the highest performing banks in the State of Michigan and it gives us great pleasure to bring that security and technology to the Copper Country!”

Upper Peninsula State Bank is a full-service bank established in 1902 and headquartered in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with offices in Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Gladstone, Marquette and Houghton.

The Bank represents great levels of safety and soundness and maintains excellent financial metrics including high levels of capital and reserves.
