NEGAUNEE — Ronald Lauren, board chairman of Credit Union Trust, was recently awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Adviser, or CTFA, professional certification from the American Bankers’ Association.

“Earning the CTFA certification validates Ron’s experience and depth of education in the wealth management industry,” said Robert Sajdak, president/CEO of Credit Union Trust.

To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.

Lauren has over 20 years of experience in the credit union industry, and he’s served as a licensed adviser along with a CEO and regional president.

He has held positions as treasurer of Forsyth Township, a board member of the Marquette County Fair, and currently holds positions on numerous boards of businesses Honor Credit Union is partner/owner of. He is also president of Honor Credit Union’s holding company that explores and invests into other businesses to offer more products/services to Honor Credit Union’s membership.
