Autumn is here, and so are more GINCC events

Happy October! Well, almost. The leaves are showing off all of their beautiful colors, the air is feeling crisper with each passing day, and the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce has a full schedule of events lined up.

Coming up this week is Bell Auxiliary’s Business After Hours event. From 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, come on down to the UP Health System-Bell lobby to enjoy refreshments, appetizers and prize drawings, and take a look around the gift shop to see their new fall fashions and other gifts. The Bell Auxiliary is made up of all volunteers and since its conception has donated over $200,000 back to our community; come on out and show your support!

If you’re an avid follower of our articles, you’ll know that our last one discussed our upcoming fundraising event, the ninth annual GINCC Gala. This is our annual event held to honor the GINCC membership, and present five different awards to those were who nominated by the community. It’s coming up next week on Oct. 10 from 5:30-8 p.m. and will be held at the Wawonowin Country Club in Champion. It’s going to be masquerade-themed and semi-formal attire is suggested. Don’t worry — GINCC will provide you with a masquerade mask if you need one! We will have a bucket raffle, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, a cash bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Take part in the candy bar raffle, where you can buy a Sayklly’s chocolate bar for $5 and you get a chance of winning a prize! Bring a canned good in for a ticket to enter into our door prize. Every canned good received will be donated to a local food pantry to give back to our community. Register by calling us at 906-486-1111 or email ginccdirector@gmail.com!

After the annual gala, we will have a Business After Hours co-hosted by Northland Lawn, Sport & Equipment and White Bear Maple Products. This will be held at Northland Lawn located at 14 U.S. 41 in Negaunee on Oct. 15 from 5-7 p.m. We had a Business After Hours with them last year and it was awesome, so come down to take part in the fun and also to check out new a business, White Bear Maple Products!

Once that Business After Hours is done, we’ll have a couple weeks off from them. Until they pick right back up! Save the date for the following: West End Health Foundation on Nov. 6 and Honor Credit Union — Negaunee on Nov. 14.

Looking ahead to the end of November, also mark your calendar for Downtown Ishpeming Lady’s Night, to be held on Nov. 20. More details to come.

We hope to see some of you at our upcoming events! We love to meet new people along with connecting with old friends.
