MARQUETTE — Embers Credit Union recently announced its addition of commercial lending expert Matt Nord.

Nord, a native of Iron Mountain, has spent the last decade in a variety of banking roles, most recently as market presidentof the Upper Peninsula region for a bank headquartered in northern Wisconsin, a press release states. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and master’s of business administration in finance/financial institutions degree from Concordia University at Chicago.

“We are thrilled to bring Matt to the Embers team. His arrival expands our expertise in commercial lending and grows our overall connectivity to the U.P. business community,” Tom Blake, chief executive officer and president of Embers, said in the release.

Nord lives in Negaunee with his wife and three boys, and he remains active in his community, volunteering and coaching youth sports.
