Navigating the LSCP website

Amy Clickner, CEO, Lake Superior Community Partnership

As you know, websites can oftentimes be the cornerstone of a company or organization’s marketing efforts. It is no different at the Lake Superior Community Partnership where our website is the most comprehensive tool we have to assist our wide variety of users.

Today I thought I would entice you to check out marquette.org by providing an overview of the resources available at your fingertips!

First and foremost, our website tells the story of our organization. From our history to our mission, we want you to get to know the LSCP. You will find information on our strategic plan, brand pillars and values. To get an idea of how we conduct business, pay special attention to our core values.

Under that same “About” tab, you will also learn more about our staff and a list of our Board of Directors who lead the organization.

On the home page, click on the short videos. One provides an overview of what economic development is via a short animated video while the other highlights clients we have worked with and the value they received from the LSCP. At the top of the home page is our Business Directory of companies and organizations that invest in economic development. Check it out as they are easily searchable by name or category.

To find out the latest LSCP news, copies of my Mining Journal columns and our blog, go to the Latest News section on the homepage. You can also connect to us through a variety of social media platforms and can find those icons at the top of the homepage.

Also on our home page you can access Zoom Prospector which is our sites and building database. Just click the “Start Your Search” tab on the right hand side. Looking for a commercial building to lease or own? How about commercial property available? This is the tool that can help you with your search. It provides all of the details you need and connects you with the realtor listing the property or contact information for lease and rentals. This robust tool also runs a variety of reports that you may find valuable including labor force, demographics, consumer expenditures and wages.

You will also find Zoom under the Site Selection tab which includes information on industrial parks, demographics, business costs, information on area employers and working here. Parties interested in starting or relocating a business to this area would find all the information they need on this section of the site.

If you are an entrepreneur, business owner or considering stepping into that arena, the Business Resources section will be a perfect place for you to start. With information on how to start a business, accessing capital and hiring employees, you will begin to get a flavor for the work that is required. This section also lists all of the business development and marketing services the LSCP provides and can directly connect you with someone from our Business Development Team.

Want to learn more and get engaged with the LSCP and our many facets? The Participate page will show you how. Whether you are looking for a way to volunteer or events that are happening, you will find them all here. To become an LSCP partner, use our quick and easy online tool to invest. If you would like to speak further about any of these options, give Kennan Marana in our office a call at 906-226-6591 ext. 105 or drop her an email at kmarana@marquette.org.

Lastly, our Live and Work section includes information about our region including the county map. We connect directly to our friends at Travel Marquette for visitors information since their website is amazing and can provide all the information needed for a visit to the area.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank all of our current investors (you will find them in the Business Directory) and our Superior Level Investors found on our homepage, as it is because of your commitment and support that we are able to provide the services and information listed above. Because of your contributions, we are here to serve all size and all sectors of businesses and entrepreneurs.

For more information on the LSCP and our services call 906-226-6591 or visit marquette.org.
