West end chamber a busy place!

Gabi Kautz

We can hardly believe that it’s already time for the 3rd Annual Chamber Children’s Carnival! Coming up this week: Thursday, May 16 from 5:30 – 7:30 at the River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center parking lot.

What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than with a fun, free, family-friendly event without having to travel far for it?

Yes, you read that right. This event is completely free, and we like it that way. Thanks to J-Goods Plumbing and Heating for being the Title Sponsor, we are able to provide this fun event for the families of our community.

J-Goods donated (for the third year in a row) $1,000 to this event, along with their dunk tank, and bikes for the Grand Prize!

So, what can you expect at the carnival? Last year, it was a whole lot of chaotic fun. Chaotic in a good way of course, as we saw so many kids and families out having a good time. We’re hoping for another chaotically fun event this year, too! There will be carnival games for a chance to win small prizes or candy, a dunk tank, a bounce house, face painting, and more. Children 12 and under can get a free hot dog and pop while at the carnival, along with a free game of bowling. Hot dogs and pop will be available for purchase for adults, as well.

No prior registration is required for this event. Just show up and look for our “check-in” tables and volunteers. Upon checking in, each child will receive a bag to hold their goodies, and where they will also find some slips. There will be a slip for the hot dog and pop, one for a game of bowling, and one to fill out their name to enter for the bicycle they’d like to win! The Grand Prizes will be drawn at 7 p.m. and they must be present to win.

We are excited to bring this event to the community for the third year in a row. We’d like to thank our other sponsors, Honor Credit Union – Negaunee, Cliffs, and Northern Michigan University, for contributing to this event and helping us make it fun for the kids.

We would also like to thank the Ishpeming Fire Department for donating two bicycles and helmets to add for the Grand Prize. It is thanks to the help of our wonderful community that we can host this event!

If you have any questions about the carnival, give us a call at 906-486-1111, or find our event on Facebook. We hope to see you there!
