Chamber Chat: Save the date for 8th Annual Dinner

Gabi Kautz

Save the Date! GINCC’s eighth Annual Dinner will be on Oct. 18.

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our upcoming Annual Dinner! This event at the Ishpeming Armory is an evening dedicated to our members. We are so thankful for each and every one of them, and want to express that gratitude with a fun and classy evening of dinner, awards, a short video showcasing the West End and prizes.

There are five awards that will be presented during the event. Volunteer of the Year, Organization of the Year, Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Member of the Year. The first four listed are all chosen by the community by nominations in a survey, and Member of the Year is eligible only for GINCC Gold Members and Chamber Rock Stars. The award presentation is a special part of the night, as we get to honor the businesses, organizations and people in the community who are making an impact.

Summer’s over but don’t put your boat shoes away just yet! The theme for this event is nautical. Nautical themed formal attire is suggested, and we hope to see everyone dress the part. There is going to be an area to take photos with a fun backdrop and props, so don’t miss that Instagram-worthy opportunity.

There will be bucket raffle prizes and a silent auction, too! Be sure to bring some cash so you can get some chances to win awesome prizes. All of the proceeds will go toward GINCC, as our main sources of funding come from membership dues and these events. The money is used to help keep our doors open so we can continue to be a resource for businesses and the community alike. It helps to buy our copy paper, so when members come in needing multiple copies, we can provide that for them. It helps to pay our phone bill, so when community members who don’t have internet call us and ask for phone numbers or any other information, we can provide that to them. You get the picture — we want to be able to assist the businesses and members of this community as much as possible. When you attend a GINCC event, you’re essentially promoting the betterment of our businesses and community!

Tickets are $45 per individual, $75 per couple, and $225 for a table of six. You can RSVP by emailing me at ginccmarketing@gmail.com or call 906-486-1111 and leave a message by 5 p.m. on Oct. 8! Even though this event is dedicated to our members, anyone is welcome! Mark your calendars for this special evening, it will certainly be one to remember.
