MARQUETTE –Great Lakes Recovery Centers is announcing the addition of JoAnne Garrow to GLRC’s Marquette Outpatient Office. Garrow will be providing outpatient mental health and behavioral health services for adolescents and adults.

Garrow is a Licensed Master Social Worker, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Anxiety Clinician for Children and Adolescents. Garrow earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and her graduate degree at Michigan State University. She had spent time as a substance abuse counselor and mental health therapist for GLRC prior to shifting into school-based clinic work providing mental health therapy for children and adolescents at Marquette Area Public Schools.

Garrow is able to provide care for various behavioral health needs and currently works with adolescent and adult clients who are experiencing mental health and co-occurring disorders. She has a special interest in helping adolescents and their families, as well as adults, with anxiety disorders.

“JoAnne is a strong believer in emotional intelligence and hopes to share her ongoing learnings of emotional exploration with others – to better understand our emotions and how to use them to impact our over-all well-being,” officials said in a news release. “JoAnne believes that she is a student of life – always wanting to learn and grow.”

In her free time, Garrow enjoys mountain biking, dirt biking, being in nature, playing her fiddle, and spending time with her family.

In addition to mental health and substance abuse services, the GLRC Marquette Outpatient Office has the capacity to provide integrated medical services to clients and the general community, including primary health care, medication assisted treatment, and hepatitis C treatment. Primary health care for clients in mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse “rounds out the offerings for client-centered, whole person care,” officials said in the release. “Integrated medical services now allow individuals to grow towards their optimal health of mind, body, and spirit.”
