Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program welcomes 6 new residents

MARQUETTE — Six new residents joined The Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program on July 1. Residents are physicians who will spend three years training in the community-based, family medicine program.

Faculty and staff from the family medicine residency program and clinic joined together with the residents and families for a welcome picnic at Marquette Mountain Ski Hill this past July.

“It’s been a wild and crazy year,” said Program Director Brian Waite, MD. “We’re happy that our new class are finally here and ready to go to work. It’s a great class, and I look forward to working with them for the next three years.”

The six new Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program residents include:

≤ Jesse Krikorian, MD

Medical degree: Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Minor in Religion from Swarthmore College

≤ Frank Sagato, MD

Medical degree: St. George’s University School of Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biology from William Paterson University

≤ Ian Smith, MD

Medical degree: American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina

≤ The “Tay” Tran, MD

Medical degree: American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Davis

≤ Kristi Wegener, MD

Medical degree: Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience, from the University of Michigan

≤ Aaron Wu, DO

Medical degree: Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa
